On February 14, put reconciliation into action—celebrate Have a Heart Day. Have a Heart Day is a child and youth-led reconciliation campaign that brings together caring Canadians to help ensure First Nations children have the services they need to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and be proud of who they are. There are many ways you can celebrate Have a Heart Day:
– Join the celebration on Parliament Hill on February 10.
– Host a Valentine’s Day party in your school or community to raise awareness and promote reconciliation. Choose a day leading up to Valentine’s Day that makes sense for your classroom or community.
– Send a Valentine’s Day card or letter supporting Have a Heart Day to the Prime Minister and your Member of Parliament.
– Spread the word through social media like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Use the hashtag #HaveaHeartDay.
Visit HaveaHeartDay.ca to download campaign resources, order buttons, and view photos from past events.
