The 6th World Curriculum Studies Conference (IAACS2018)

The next World Curriculum Studies Conference will be held in Melbourne, Australia, in the early part of December, 2018. The conference, under the auspices of the International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies (IAACS), will be co-hosted with the Australian Curriculum Studies Association (ACSA) and the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE). It is to be held in the University of Melbourne, located in the heart of the city of Melbourne. It is the sixth such conference, held triennially, following previous events occurring in Shanghai, China (2003), Tampere, Finland (2006), Cape Town, South Africa (2009), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2012) and Ottawa, Canada (2015).

The conference will take place over three days and is structured in terms of plenary keynote addresses, invited feature panels, and paper presentations.

Consistent with the mission of IAACS and in the tradition of previous events, the conference will have an explicitly international character and orientation, with a view to furthering the project of transnational curriculum inquiry, albeit drawing on what are often distinctively national perspectives, and working within and across them. Participation and contribution is hereby invited from curriculum scholars working in different countries across the world.

A conference website is available (http://www.iaacs2018.info), and will be increasingly developed as planning proceeds – please bookmark it and keep in touch at  (Conference Chair: Emeritus Professor Bill Green)

We invite you to start planning now to attend, with a view to being both intellectually stimulated and culturally enriched, experiencing Melbourne at its very best, and Australia more generally, and engaging with richly informed curriculum scholarship from all over the world.

We look forward to seeing you there.
